Surah al-Waqi`ah (The Occurrence) 56 : 70

لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ

If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?

Explanatory Note

It is He who has made water sweet. Had He willed otherwise, He could have made it 'salty and bitter', undrinkable, and unable to produce life. Is it not right then that they should express their gratitude to God for having willed it so?
